If you live near the rim on the East side of Columbia Village, you have undoubtedly heard construction kicking off on the new Bowler Park in early 2021. The property is 24.62 acres in Southeast Boise near Surprise Valley. Six acres will be developed into the park which will preserve much of the sage brush stands on site. Work will include green-up and amenities including 1.25 acre fenced dog park with two shade shelters and a dog water fountain, skateboard/scooter plaza, outdoor fitness equipment, bocce ball court, playground, mister poles, one large shelter, one small shade shelter and restroom. Three acres of turf will be also installed along with the parking lot, entrance drive and sidewalk from Surprise Way. It is scheduled to be complete in Summer of 2021.
