April/May 2025 CVOA Update

The new board members have hit the ground running and have jumped right into helping our neighborhood. Damon Sutherland will be the new Chair for our landscape committee, and Kelly Ryan will be the Chair for our Events Committee.  Below is a full list of the board officer positions and committee chairs:

You may have noticed the common area irrigation water has been turned back on and Aloha is working on their spring landscaping efforts.  Please be sure to report any sprinkler issues you notice in the neighborhood to our property manager at cbrockl@sentrymgt.com.  It is incredibly helpful when homeowners report sprinkler issues with specific pin-point locations and pictures.  
 
Over the next month is also the best time to pull up Goathead weeds.  (Also known as cat’s head, bull’s head, devil’s thorn, puncture vine, devil’s eyelashes, caltrop weed, or tackweed.)  Check out this video on how to identify and properly remove this nasty weed: https://youtu.be/hdMdzdqt1Sk.  If you notice any of these weeds in our neighborhood, please do us all a favor and properly remove them to prevent further propagation and spreading. You can report patches of the weeds to our property manager at cbrockl@sentrymgt.com.  
 
Before we know it, the pools will be opening on May 23rd.  The lower rectangle pool has been replastered and is ready for a new season!  The plan is to replaster the remaining pools over the next several years.  
 
Be sure to check out the attached flyer and mark your calendars for our upcoming events, including our summer bbq, community yard sales, and national night out.  And don’t forget to submit those ACC requests before you start all your spring projects.  You can find the form on our website at cvoa.net, or here.
 
As a heads up, the board has approved rate increases for the Pioneer Room rental fees and RV lot rental spaces beginning in January 2026.  Additional information will be provided prior to the increases.
 
Our next monthly Board meeting will be on May 20th.  The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. with a homeowner forum to provide homeowners an opportunity to address any matters with the Board and share your thoughts and ideas.
