September/October 2024 Updates
Posted on Oct 11th, 2024
With the Fall season upon us, we have the closure of the lap pool as of September 30th, and the watering in our common areas will be turned off on October 15th. Until then, the watering in our common areas will be reduced. Our landscapers will also begin Fall cleanup efforts.
If you enjoy walking your dog(s) in our beautiful neighborhood, please be sure to immediately pick up your dog’s waste. Under City Code dogs are required to be leashed and owners are required to immediately remove fecal matter deposited by their pets in a sanitary manner. (Boise City Code section 5-1-7.) Please be sure to always carry the proper items to clean up after your dog(s).
As we start to see the leaves fall, don’t forget to clear the storm drains around your house. ACHD asks residents to use a rake to clear debris from the drains. Residents should not try to remove the grates. Neighbors are also reminded not to rake leaves or other debris into the street, as doing so can cause the debris to clog another storm drain nearby. You can contact ACHD with any drain clogs or concerns at (208) 387-6100.
Unfortunately fire season is not quite over yet. The Board is looking for a volunteer to chair our Firewise Committee. If you are interested in helping organize Firewise meetings and working with other invested neighbors to review and modify the firewise plan for our neighborhood, please reach out to Rachel McFarland at rmcfarland@cvoa.net.
If you love our neighborhood Turkey Trot, we need your help! We need a volunteer to help run the event this year, since some of our board members will be out of town. Please reach out to Anita Ralstin at aralstin@cvoa.net and we will connect you with our events team. And mark your calendar for a visit with Santa and Holiday Bazaar on December 7th.
Our next board meeting will cover some important topics. The Board will be reviewing the proposed 2025 budget, including a proposed dues increase. The Board is also considering changing our dues payments to biannual payments (2 times a year) versus the current quarterly payments (4 times a year) to reduce processing costs. Additionally, the Board will be considering bids for a new landscape contract in executive session. We appreciate the input from homeowners on these important topics. The meeting will take place on October 15th, starting at 6:00 p.m. with a homeowner forum to provide homeowners an opportunity to address any matters with the Board and share your thoughts and ideas.
You can report any neighborhood concerns to Charles Degenhardt at cdegenhardt@sentymgt.com, or contact our Boise Police NCO for more serious concerns here: https://www.cityofboise.org/departments/police/specialty-positions/neighborhood-contact-officer/.
