July/August 2024 CVOA Updates
Posted on Aug 2nd, 2024

We are looking forward to seeing you all at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.!  This is our biggest neighborhood event of the year. We will have food trucks, a live band, inflatables for the kids, vendor booths, and appearances from local law enforcement out at the grassy area next to the Rec Center.  National Night Out is a great opportunity to connect with our neighbors and community and have fun!

At our HOA table for National Night Out, we will have a signup sheet for those interested in joining our Firewise Committee.  The Board will be tasking our Firewise Committee with updating our long-term plan to manage all our natural desert areas within the HOA and research agency collaboration and funding options.  If you miss the signup sheet, you can email your interest to cdegenhardt@sentrymgt.com.  All the recent wildfires are good motivation for us to review our own fire risks here at home.

We hope you are all enjoying the pools to cool off in the heat of summer. Our pool pump/equipment improvements are 99% complete, which greatly improves the efficiency and longevity of the pumps and equipment.  We have also been making other smaller improvements to our pools with our new pool vendor including adding an anti-slip coating to the tiles and replacing some handrails.  We welcome your feedback about our pools and will continue to plan for future maintenance and improvements.

The board has also been working on cooling down our Rec Center.  We have been aware that the air conditioning in the Rec Center has not been able to keep up with the heat.  We have been investigating the cause(s) and the best options to correct the problem.  After replacing some failed equipment and correcting a ducting issue, we are happy to report that the Rec Center, including the Pioneer Room, is staying cool!  We will continue to monitor the AC in the Rec Center to ensure it is operating properly.

For those of you who enjoy the Oregon Trail just off Lake Forest and the walking path along the power lines between Grand Forest and Lake Forest, please be aware that Idaho Power will be conducting work in those areas.  We ask that you avoid any area while work is being conducted and to be aware of any potential hazards from the work.  If you have any questions about this work, please contact Idaho Power.

With recreational activities in full swing, we want to remind everyone that RV’s, campers, trailers and boats may only be stored on your property for up to 72 hours for the purposes of loading, unloading and cleaning.  Otherwise, all recreational vehicles must be stored offsite, in an enclosed structure (such as your garage), or otherwise screened from public view. (See section 5.16 of our CC&Rs.)

We would like to further remind everyone to please keep up your weekly yard maintenance and weed management to keep our neighborhood beautiful. And please continue to report any broken sprinkler heads or broken tree branches to cdegenhardt@sentrymgt.com to help us better manage our common areas.  Lastly, don’t forget to submit your ACC requests for your own home projects.

Our next monthly Board meeting will be August 20th.  The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. with a homeowner forum to provide homeowners an opportunity to address any matters with the Board and share your thoughts and ideas.
