May 2024 CVOA Update
Posted on May 29th, 2024

The pools are open!  Schools are out and it is time to commence all summer activities.  Don’t forget to come to the Rec Center for a snow cone from Slay the Snow on Friday, May 25th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.  We will also be having our annual summer BBQ and pool party on June 8th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.  And start cleaning out those closets and garages in preparation for our community yard sales on June 15th.

Before you head over to the pools, please take a moment to review our 2024 pool rules.  You can find them here, or on our website at www.cvoa.net.  The pool rules cover the hours of operation, the check-in procedure for access*, and other important matters.  Of particular note, pool guest limits will remain at four (4) guests per household.  Guests are considered anyone who does not live with the homeowner.  The guest limit helps us preserve the pools for the enjoyment of our dues paying homeowners by preventing overcrowding, reducing deterioration from overuse, limiting the amount of chemical use needed in the pools, and limiting potential damage.

We have been working on many upgrades to our pool systems and still have some more work that needs to be done.  Please note that the lower rectangle pool will be closed on June 3rd for some additional work.  All other pools will remain open.  We appreciate your patience with this minor inconvenience. Our aging pools have all reached the point of needing more significant maintenance.  The Board is working with our new pool contractor JLWinters to get all our pools into a better state so that we can continue to enjoy them for many years to come.

Because we have aging infrastructure, and because it has been almost ten years, the Board is also obtaining a new reserve study.  A reserve study will assess the HOA’s infrastructure and reserve funds and create a plan for the HOA to keep up with the anticipated maintenance and cost of our infrastructure.  The Board will share out more information after the study is completed in a few months.

Wondering about the status of our CC&R Review survey and committee work?  The results of the survey were shared at our annual meeting in March and are also available for review on our website, www.cvoa.net.  The committee is currently reviewing a final proposed draft of the CC&R rewrite based on the survey results and is exploring the best ways to circulate the final draft for homeowners to vote on, including electronic voting options.  The CC&R committee is also looking to hold some town hall meetings to help answer everyone’s questions with this process.

Our next monthly Board meeting will be June 18th.  The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. with a homeowner forum to provide homeowners an opportunity to address any matters with the Board and share your thoughts and ideas.
