CVOA March 2024 Update
Posted on Mar 28th, 2024
Thank you again to everyone for attending our Annual Board Meeting on March 13th and for submitting your absentee votes or assigning your proxy. The vote tallies were very close, and every vote mattered in determining the election. For anyone who missed the announcement, current Board President Mark Barry was reelected, and we elected two new board members, James (Jim) Sprader and Charles (Chaz) Miller, to the board.
At our regular Board of Directors’ meeting on March 19th we had some additional Board member changeover, selected officer positions, and appointed committee chairpersons. The Board accepted Evan Robertson’s resignation from the Board, and appointed JP Jordan to the Board. JP was one of the board member candidates in the election and will serve out the remainder of Evan’s term for the next two years.
In accordance with our bylaws, the following officer positions on the board were selected:
• President: Mark Barry
• Vice President: Rachel McFarland
• Treasurer: Anita Ralstin
• Assistant Treasurer: Jim Sprader
• Secretary: Jim Sprader
The Board also appointed Committee Chairpersons for the next year. Committees assist the board within a defined scope and present findings or proposals to the board. The Board would love to have more homeowner involvement on our committees. If you are interested in joining any of our committees, please email our Property Manager Charles Degenhardt at cdegenhardt@sentrymgt.com, or reach out to the committee chair.
Nominations Committee:
• Chair: Anita Ralstin (changed from Evan Robertson)

Our next community event will be our annual Walk the Village Trail Cleanup on April 6th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Come meet us at the Rec Center to grab a map, some water, and a snack. Enjoy the outdoors, help clean up our trails, and possibly win a prize! This is a great activity for the whole family.
As we all enjoy this Spring weather and start to gear up for our home projects, don’t forget to submit those ACC requests. The new fillable pdf form can be found here and on our website at CVOA.net. The Board approved its own Spring project to xeriscape the landscaping on the NW corner of the Rec Center to improve the drainage in the area and decrease water pooling in the parking lot.
And for those who are looking forward to pool season already, the board has decided to expand the general pool hours with an earlier opening time of 8:00 a.m. This early start time will initially run on a trial basis to ensure the change meets all the needs of our community. The current work on the pool equipment/pumps is progressing well and we are currently still on target to open the pools on May 24th.
We extend a special thank you to our departed board members Rachel Sutherland, Lloyd Burke, and Evan Robertson for serving on the board and helping manage our wonderful neighborhood. Our next Board of Directors monthly meeting is set for April 16th at 6:00 p.m. The homeowners’ forum starts at 6:00 p.m. when homeowners can address the board. Minutes from our meetings are posted online at CVOA.net.
Fun Fact: The common areas in CVOA (developed and undeveloped) is approximately 120 acres!
We hope you all enjoy our common areas this Spring and thank you for your part in keeping our neighborhood excellent.
