August CVOA Neighborhood Update
Posted on Aug 28th, 2023

We hope this finds you well and enjoying these last few days of summer. It's a great time to take advantage of the weather and our beautiful community! Please read on to get caught up on the latest in your neighborhood!

First, we want to thank all of you who joined us for National Night Out! We had a live band, food trucks, vendors, bounce houses and firetrucks! A great time was had by all. Thank you also to the WCA and The Cottages for your support and participation!

POOL NEWS! Our pool season is drawing to a close and we hope you all have had a great time enjoying our amenities. We also thank you for being respectful and kind to each other as we have navigated pool and rec. center repairs. We appreciate all of your patience. Thank you to MAV Event Services for helping us maintain our safety and helping ensure that our homeowners get to enjoy the pool to the fullest. Please note that the general pool season will end on September 4th and the LAP POOL will remain open for lap swimming only until September 30th.

As you may know, your CVOA board and CC&R Review Committee are currently working to update and amend the covenants and rules for our community. Our committee meets once a month and hopes to have communications regarding items up for review and a survey out to our homeowners soon. In order for us to pass these updates and edits, we will need at least 1200 votes when the time comes, so we kindly ask that you all participate in this process. Our goal is to represent the needs of the community while maintaining our property values and we can't do it without you! Stay tuned!

Many of you have been helping us keep an eye on our landscaping and sprinklers. We thank all of you who give our property management a heads up when you see broken sprinkler heads or other damage. Watering has already been decreased to the common areas to prepare for changing weather. You will see some repairs and improvements outside of the rec. center soon. These updates will help us prevent the flooding we experienced in the weight room at the beginning of the summer. We continue to kindly ask that you do not try to adjust or fix any sprinkler heads on your own. This can result in damage, which is costly to all of us, and malfunctions in the watering system. This can also, and has, caused flooding. Let's all work together to keep our community beautiful!

Finally, we have heard that many of you are concerned about the traffic changes that have occurred on the corners of Quamash/Lake Forest and Quamash/Grand Forest. Last year CVOA homeowners received a postcard from ACHD with a website link requesting feedback regarding traffic projects in our neighborhood. Based on that feedback, changes were made and will continue in the coming year. The website for additional information on this plan is https://engage.achdidaho.org/columbia-village-neighborhood-improvements. There are many details, concept maps and information that will help answer your questions. If you have any further questions or concerns about these improvements, we ask that you please contact ACHD.

As always you are welcome to join us at our monthly board meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be September 19th at 6:00 p.m. with a homeowner forum at 7:00 p.m.

Have a wonderful day!

Your CVOA Board of Directors
