May CVOA Neighborhood Update
Posted on May 24th, 2023

Happy Summer Neighbors! Mother Nature is making up the crazy winter/spring we've had in a big way! We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the sunshine, with copious amounts of sunscreen of course... ;)

First, you may have noticed that the sprinklers were turned on last week. We delayed turning them on for almost an entire month, which means savings in not only water, but your CVOA funds! As always, if you see any broken sprinkler heads, lines, or anything of concern related to the watering system, please let us know of the location, date and time with a photo if possible. Contact information for our property management can be found at https://www.cvoa.net/contact-1/ .

Our pools will be opening on Saturday, May 27th. The waterfall pool is in its last stages of repairs, so that one pool will not be open. The pool company doing the repairs will be roping and blocking off the area, but please keep your children away from that pool. Security from MAV will be with us all season and we are thankful to have them returning with us. We, of course, ask that you talk to your families about respecting our facilities and those who work there to ensure our safety and enjoyment during this busy, fun time. Please also take the time to review our pool rules posted here: https://www.cvoa.net/recreation-center-gym/. We will continue to require all patrons to bring their keycard AND proof of address (ID) to use the pools. And we will continue to limit guests to 4 to allow all of our residents the opportunity to use the facilities.

We also have fun events planned this summer, so mark your calendars! On May 27th, Slay the Snow snow cone truck will be with us to celebrate the end of school and the opening of the pool from 11-1:00 p.m. at the Rec. Center! June 10th will be our Pop Into Summer Neighborhood BBQ from 11:00-2:00 p.m. Bring your families for hot dogs, treats and pool fun! June 17th and 18th will be our Community Yard Sales, so start cleaning out your closets!!  Many of you have asked about food trucks this summer and we have chosen instead to have one CVOA Food Truck Day on July 8th. Details to come! And our Firewise National Night Out will be on August 1st with food trucks, bounce houses, games and artisan vendors!

Please note that the Rec. Center will be closed the week of June 12th for interior painting. We are working out a plan for keeping the pools available to our residents during that week, so stay tuned. Your board is working on multiple improvements over the next few months including parking lot repairs, a new Rec. Center sign and more neighborhood signs like the one on Lake Forest and Yamhill.

Finally, as we go into pool season, we'd like to again remind you and yours to be respectful of our facilities. We've had multiple costs in vandalism repairs just in the last month. Just last weekend we had a serious trespassing issue in our pools that could have resulted in damage and injury. Our volleyball area was also vandalized and a brand new post pulled up from the ground last month. We are currently trying to track down those responsible using our security cameras and key card entry logs. We are also updating our security cameras and the areas they cover as well.

As always, thank you for making our neighborhood the beautiful place that it is. Look out for your neighbors and help us create that wonderful sense of community. We can do it together! Please continue to contact us with your concerns or questions. All contact information can be found at https://www.cvoa.net/contact-1/ .

Have a wonderful day!

Your CVOA Board of Directors
