Pool Now Open - Clarification on New 2021 Rules
Posted on Jun 3rd, 2021

We are so excited to see so many familiar faces enjoying the community pools that opened Memorial Day weekend. It's wonderful that we are starting, slowly but surely, to see our neighborhood return to its busy, bustling self. We wanted to take a moment to give you some more information about our continuing pool guidelines for this summer. Hopefully this information can give you some insight into why certain changes were retained from last year.
We've elected to continue a few changes from Summer 2020. One, is to require identification confirming your Columbia Village address when you enter the pool area. This allows us to ensure that all of our dues paying residents can enjoy their time without overcrowding during their visits. In the past key cards have been shared with non-residents, or non-residents have trespassed, which has caused vandalism at times and an abuse of the amenities we are all paying for. While it may seem like an inconvenience, it actually saves us money in repairs and helps keep pool attendance manageable. We're confident that the guards will get to know your friendly faces as you attend with your families. We noticed a dramatic and positive change in the way our residents were able to enjoy the pool last summer with this guideline in place.
Along the same vein, our second change we've kept is in regards to guests that each household may bring to the pool. Keeping the number at two guests per household also prevents large parties and groups from monopolizing the area, which was an issue pre-2020. Both of these additions to our guidelines help you have more opportunity with your families to cool off and enjoy the pools this summer. Likewise, keeping food in the picnic area and outside of the pool deck helps keep our pools and area clean, which, of course, saves on repair and cleaning costs.
Please note that none of these guidelines are retained because of the COVID pandemic. We are mindful and so grateful that our numbers are improving and that we can safely be with friends and family outdoors.  As always, we welcome feedback and questions. Please note that our board meetings are always the third Tuesday of each month in the Pioneer Room. At 6:30 p.m. we have a homeowner forum where you can address the board with your thoughts or concerns.  A full list of the pool rules can be found here: 2021 CVOA Pool Rules
Have a wonderful Summer!
